Loved like devoted doves

Loved like devoted doves
And relaxed like sated tigers

Noble like upright camels
Guarding the abundance to endure in thirst

Trapped by snake-like organs
Groaning under the weight of pleasure

Studied and read and written line by line
Cast in meanings and graphic signs

Deserted and spurned and courted in fickle passion
And passed over to the following page

Broken by humiliation from what had begun high
And raised by other's feeling who surrounds to embrace

Muted and moved and missed a place of consuming fire
And awakened by a whistle in the garden, sleeping to the sound of the crickets
